Years 5 & 6 Concert – 12 March
Friday 13 March 2015
On Thursday 12 March, Years 5 and 6 entertained friends, family and staff with a very high standard of music making. The concert started with ensembles, featuring every pupil playing their instruments or percussion. Mr Neill explained to the audience that it is ensemble playing that hones a child’s listening skills and sense of timing and rhythm.
There were also many solos in the concert, including trumpet, clarinet, violin and piano, plus some delightful vocal solos. The concert concluded with two songs from the Junior Harmony Singers. Jemima Soars and Pippa Carrington delivered confident solos in ‘I Believe I Can Fly’, and the concert finale, ‘Lullaby Of Broadway’, ensured that the audience went home with smiles on their faces after this rousing number!
Well done to all the girls for the hard work they put into preparing for this excellent concert.
