U13 Netball v Bede’s

The U13 Netball team played two very challenging games against Bede’s Prep on Tuesday. Although movement in the in the midcourt on the A team was strong, the goals could not be converted. The B team had some outstanding shooting by Amelia ffinch Mitchell and some strong centre work by Maddy Baldwin-Charles. Well done to Natalya Chance who was voted player of the match for the A team.

U15 Netball v Claremont

The U15 A and B Netball teams played great games against Claremont. There was excellent shooting from all, but Tahlia Winn stood out with her impressive circle edge shots. The A team won 17 – 5 and the B team won 9 – 2. Great job, girls!

Volleyball

The Moira House Volleyball team, captained by Denise Wang, played superb Volleyball in their match against an experienced Bede’s team. Bede’s won the match but the set scores were close with Bede’s winning both by 25 points to 20. Moira House played the better 3-touch Volleyball but in each set Bede’s managed a couple of good runs of points at crucial times. Moira House scrambled quite a lot of balls over the net with good team support and showed good control. It was a great match and thoroughly enjoyed by all.

U11 Hockey v Claremont

Our U11 Hockey team played a tremendous game against a skilful Claremont team this week. Claremont were relentless and organised in attack but our defenders cleared the ball strongly out of the D to keep a clean sheet in the first half. In the second half we worked the ball into attack much more effectively and were unlucky to concede a goal against the run of play. In the closing stages of the game Cheyenna Beale picked the ball up on the half way line on two occasions and ran at speed into the D but her shots were saved by the GK. The game finished at a close 0 – 1 and Cheyenna was awarded the player of the match by the opposition. Well played – it was a great game!

U9 Netball v St Andrew’s

Our U9 Netball team played their first ever match against St Andrew’s on Thursday. It was great to see how much the girls improved during the course of the games. We lost the first match against a strong St Andrew’s B team by 7 – 0. Confidence grew in the second game against St Andrew’s C and our girls won 3 – 1. Well done to Imogen Beale, Milanta Buraityte, Carys Gibson and Romilly Smith who joined our Year 4s Sofia Oakdon, Beata Sperling-Tyler, Zoe Whittingdon and Hanna Frankowska. Well done to all our players.

U18 Hockey v Mayfield

The U18 Hockey team played incredibly well against Mayfield yesterday. There was some fantastic goalkeeping by Sorrel Jordan and everyone worked as a strong unit both in attack and defense. Unfortunately in the 2nd half a textbook goal was scored by Mayfield, finishing the game with a 1 – 0 loss. Well done ladies!
