Life in the Sixth Form is very different from life in the first five years at secondary school. Sixth Formers come to see their teachers as helpers and guides rather than authority figures and learn to take more responsibility for themselves. Whilst in some ways a sixth former can live a more relaxed life, she also has to work much harder and far longer hours academically, and has to plan her life accordingly.

Alongside her academic studies, we try to encourage our girlsr to participate in many other aspects of school life and to play an integral part in the life of the school. Not only are there many extra curricular activities on offer, but they may wish to take on responsibility, for example, as a member of the League.

We believe that students work best in a happy, secure environment where our expectation is clear, where good work is recognised and where achievement is praised. We place great emphasis on relationships, encouraging students to relate well with each other and with staff. We believe that determination, commitment and hard work are the key to success.

The Careers Study is housed within Boston House and a highly experienced Careers Counsellor is always available to discuss university applications and career choices. Yet the Senior School is not just about academic achievement. There is also emphasis on personal growth and everyone is encouraged to broaden their horizons in the way that best suits them.
