NURSERY SCHOOL FOR BOYS AND GIRLS

Mini MoHo is the name chosen by the children themselves for the new-look Nursery which will open its doors in September. The new logo, a magical dragon, has been adopted to symbolise the wonderful world the children step into every time they join us!

From September, Mini MoHo will provide care for boys and girls from the age of 2 to 4 years of age for 50 weeks a year. Because we recognise that wrap around care is essential for many working parents, the Nursery will open from 8.00am until 6.00 pm.

Mini MoHo is fortunate to share some facilities and specialist teachers with the main school, offering an exceptional breadth of learning choices. These include French, a weekly visit to a storytelling session at Eastbourne Central Library, cookery, drama workshops, music and movement, a weekly swimming session and ICT sessions in our ICT suite.

Our primary aim is to ensure that the children achieve the best they can in a happy environment and feel confident and independent before starting full-time school. We follow a structured daily routine through which each child is able to develop individually. We follow the Early Years Foundation stage, which is enhanced here at Mini MoHo. We also accept the Early Years Entitlement vouchers.

Outdoor play features highly in the Nursery. We have our own self contained garden and also have the use of the fabulous Junior School playground.

Many things impressed the Lead Early Years Consultant from CfBT on a recent visit to Mini MoHo.

• Staff are undertaking their own degree studies to enhance their work with the children.
• The work on display shows evidence of independent learning.
• The Nursery is highly organised, clean and tidy.
• Children are encouraged to make independent choices.
• The children have access to the Junior School’s ICT facilities.
• The children learn to use a ‘Digiblu’ camera to record their own learning.
