Moira House Girls School was delighted to welcome TV Presenter, Dr Jonathan Hare, on Saturday 1 October.
Dr Hare, who presents BBC TV’s Rough Science programme, gave a fascinating Talk about Creative Science which was very much enjoyed by the audience of both students and parents.
After the Talk, Dr Hare set a number of challenges for his willing audience. These included making huge 3d models!
Dr Hare himself is used to taking part in challenges as he is one of the scientist team members in the Rough Science TV series in which scientists are given demanding tasks to complete in remote locations. He is also a successful scientist who has worked with Professor Sir Harry Kroto, the 1996 Nobel Prize winner for Chemistry, for his PHD.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable morning, and Mr Patrick Richard, Head of Science at Moira House and organiser of the event said: “We were delighted to see so many people enjoying Science. Dr Hare’s enthusiasm certainly brought Science to life.”
