Leah, Year 9 student at Moira House Girls School has been learning the flute for two years, and has already taken her Grade 5 exam. In February 2015, she performed at the Eastbourne Music & Arts Festival. She won the Patricia Bathe Trophy in the Woodwind & Brass Category, and was also awarded a certificate of Distinction in the under 16 category for Solo Woodwind. In March 2015, she performed three flute pieces at the Brighton Festival Competition and came first in the Woodwind category for Solo Graded Classes (Grade 4 to 6). She won an exciting prize to make her own recording at CMP studios in Eastbourne, which she took the opportunity to do during the School Easter holiday!

Accompanied by piano, Leah recorded her two competition pieces, Allegro by G F Handel and Nobody Knows by Christopher Norton. The studio staff were ‘wowed’ by Leah’s performance and Leah had a fantastic time in the recording studio, embracing every minute!
