International Summer School
International Summer School offers a well-organised and high quality residential English language summer school course for boys and girls aged 8-16 years at Moira House School in Eastbourne during July and August each year. Students can improve their English and have a fun and exciting time while doing so – all in the safe and secure environment at Moira House.
The summer school programme is very well-balanced with English lessons in the mornings and sports and other activities, including drama, cookery, dance and arts and crafts, in the afternoons. Each evening there is a whole-school activity such as a talent show, disco or a visit to the local cinema or ten pin bowling. Students are also taken on visits to famous tourist attractions each week – a full day in London is always included, as well as the chance to visit places of cultural interest closer to school. Moira House has an excellent location, being within easy walking distance of the town centre and the beach and seafront.
Each summer boys and girls from over 25 different countries join International Summer School. The number of students who speak the same language is restricted so that English is the only common language and everyone is encouraged to speak it all times. We accept students of all abilities, from complete beginners in English to advanced learners. Class sizes are kept small – maximum 12 students – which ensures intensive and personal tuition.
Our summer school has grown increasingly popular and we have many returning students and staff each year. We want boys and girls to return home having been enriched by their experience, having made friends with others from all over the world and having improved their English skills. And having had great fun!
International Summer School is accredited by the British Council under the Accreditation UK Scheme.
