On Saturday 18 October, eleven ‘Old Girls’ from Moira House Girls School reunited in Eastbourne, 30 years after leaving the school.

Their reunion included lunch with a former Science teacher, a walk around the grounds of Moira House and for some of them, a dip in the sea! Ms Holland, Director of Marketing, Communications and Development at Moira House Girls School met up with the group to take a tour around the school. Ms Holland commented that “the ladies were absolutely delighted to revisit their old school and for them, it seemed just like it was yesterday.”

Mrs Hilary Dale, who organised the reunion, lives in Eastbourne, and together with the other ladies, really made it a special event for them. They all wore t-shirts which had specifically designed for their reunion. The t-shirts were red, with the school’s crest and motto on the front – ‘nemo a me alienus’ – meaning ‘other people matter’ and MoHo on the back, made up from the names of all the girls in their year.

With Moira House celebrating its 140th anniversary next year, we look forward to continuing to welcome Old Girls back to the school.
