Next week is the FA ‘Girls in Football’ week and we will be taking part on Tuesday and Friday. The event is being run in conjunction with Disney, to inspire girls of all abilities across the country to play the game, with an added sprinkle of Disney magic and storytelling.

For Years 3, 4 and 5 these sessions will be run from 12.30 to 1.00 pm and for Year 6 the sessions will take place between 1.30 and 2.00 pm. The girls will need to wear their PE kit and a pair of shin pads and they may, if they wish, dress up as a Disney character. If the girls would like to bring in an outfit they will need to do so in a named bag and keep this in their kit room for the week.

The girls who wish to participate in Years 3 – 6 will change into their PE kit at break-time and then if they want to dress up, put the outfit on before their lunch. They will be asked to have a lighter than normal lunch, so that they can whizz around the pitch during the session. The girls will enjoy a few Disney themed warm-up drills and then go straight into games, listening to a variety of Disney tracks to create the ambiance. After the session the girls will stay in their PE kit and remove their fancy dress, keeping it in their kit room until the end of the week.

The girls can choose to opt in and play on each day and will be asked to sign up for the session during their morning registration with their Form Teacher.
