After a summer of anticipation, there were plenty of smiling faces at Moira House Girls School in Eastbourne, as the girls collected their GCSE results. Continuing on from last week’s outstanding A Level results, our GCSE students also did themselves proud.

A significant number of girls performed well above their predicted grades with 20% of all grades being A* and 83% of the girls scoring 5 or more A* to C grades. A special mention must go to Hannah Cory, who achieved A*s in all 10 of her subjects. Hannah was thrilled with her results, and said that all her dreams had come true!

Mr James Sheridan, Principal, is delighted with the girls’ achievements this year:

“Our Year 11 students have achieved considerable success in their GCSE and iGCSE examinations and I am delighted by these results. Our girls work extremely hard in school and these public examinations are a real milestone in their academic careers. It is pleasing to see their efforts rewarded by so many excellent grades across the board. Our girls seize every opportunity to excel in all areas of school life during their time at Moira House and we are immensely proud of all their achievements.”

We wish the girls a restful final week of the summer break and look forward to welcoming them back in September for the next chapter in their education – AS and A levels!
