Catering & operations

Moira House pupils eating on the lawns Moira House chefs presenting an excellent variety of food

Our catering and operations team work hard and provide us with a high level of service. Hot, nutritious food is provided at breakfast and lunch Monday to Saturday, brunch on Sunday and supper every evening.

We provide snacks at morning break and afternoon tea. We cater for specific dietary needs. At weekends we have themed evenings, for example Chinese, Indian or Italian.

All girls from Year 10 upwards and all boarders can order snack food and drinks from the catering department to consume in house kitchens and common rooms.

We have many special events, for example, the welcome parties, house Christmas parties, the boarders Christmas Dinner, the formal Sixth Form Dinner and summer time barbeques. Our catering team ensures that excellent food and service contribute to a wonderful evening, whatever the occasion.

We welcome feedback from students and staff about our provision. The Operations Manager meets with the girls regularly to invite feedback about catering or other domestic matters and acts on issues raised.

We have a laundry on site. Boarders in Years 7 to 11 send clothes, bedding and towels to the laundry. Sixth Form students look after their own clothes but may send their bedding and towels to the laundry.

We are very fortunate to be sited in a picturesque setting on the edge of the South Downs National Park. Our grounds staff work to enhance our estate and provide aesthetically pleasing spaces for sport, play and contemplation.

A large team of people ensure that we have a well kept and inviting place to live, learn and work.

Menus are created termly on a 5 week rotation to incorporate the seasons and the fresh produce available locally and nationally.
