Moira House has a thriving and diverse boarding community – we have students with over 20 nationalities. We are privileged to be part of a multicultural community which gives us the opportunity to learn about other cultures and traditions.

We believe passionately in the value of a boarding education. We believe boarding helps to develop self confidence and motivation. A greater sense of community spirit, an improved cultural awareness, and a respect for others come from living in a community.

Boarders do not ‘lose’ time in traveling to and from school. They can go to the theatre in London, get off the bus and fall into bed, rather than have parents collect them after a late return to school. Boarders can access school facilities for far longer. They have the opportunity to pursue a wide range of interests.

Boarders say that the best thing about boarding is their friends. Living and working in close proximity to others helps to develop friendships that last a lifetime.

We place great importance on pastoral care. Every girl is very much an individual and close communication between staff, parents and girls is encouraged.

To meet the needs of individual families we offer full, weekly and flexible boarding. Our houses, School House for girls up to Year 11 and Boston House for Sixth Form students, provide attractive and comfortable accommodation.
